BandTopia was built by Jason Watson — a software engineer with 25 years of experience and a musician who has spent his entire adult life pursuing music at every level.
Jason has lived the full spectrum of the musician’s journey. He pursued a Christian music career for years, writing original material that reached radio markets across the United States and Canada. Today he is the lead singer of a country cover band, gigging regularly and doing what he’s always done — playing music for the love of it.
Like most band leaders, Jason was spending more time managing the band than playing in it. Booking gigs through email threads. Splitting pay on Venmo with no record of who got what. Coordinating schedules through a group text that nobody read. Keeping venue contacts in a notebook that only he could find.
He looked for a tool that could handle all of it in one place. There wasn’t one.
So he built it.
BandTopia is designed from the inside out — by someone who knows what it feels like to get a last-minute “can we move the soundcheck?” text an hour before a gig, what it’s like to chase down a venue for a payment two weeks after the show, and what it means to love music enough to keep showing up for it decade after decade.
Every feature in BandTopia exists because a real working band needed it.
To take the pressure of running a band off musicians’ shoulders — so they can do what they love. Play music. Entertain audiences. Keep the band together.
BandTopia is in active development with a growing community of working bands. We’re building in the open, listening closely, and shipping fast. If you’re a gigging musician who wants to shape what this becomes — we’d love to have you on board.
